Clay is primal, earth, back to basics.
Life is so hectic and hectic these days. And at a very hectic and turbulent time in my life, I found clay.
Clay has been my salvation.. clay releases me from all daily worries.
It clears my head, it's a kind of meditation, only with dirty hands ;o) I can sink into it wonderfully, lose my creativity and time flies by.
Creating something useful, or for decoration, from a lump of clay is a magical thing.
When you slowly see something taking shape, you become more and more enthusiastic.
During the entire process, it remains exciting whether the end result will succeed. Because they don't say 'the oven gives and the oven takes away' for nothing.
It is wonderful to keep discovering new techniques, types of clay, glazes and possibilities. You can go on endlessly with clay. You learn something new every time, it will never get boring.
You learn to be patient, precise and eager to learn. And most importantly, you should be relaxed. So a kind of meditation with clay. If you are not, the clay will not cooperate. You have to be a team with the clay. And if you succeed... the most beautiful things will come out of your hands.
